TransActive-UK is an umbrella organisation for Transsexual People (transpeople) who wish to campaign for transsexual and trangender rights in the UK.
It's a way for people to campaign for trans rights on their own terms. Campaigning under the banner of TransActive-UK gives the weight of an organisation and makes thing easier than if campaigning as an individual.
TransActive-UK is not an organisation so there is no formal structure. Therefore, it is only democratic in that people using the umbrella of TransActive-UK make their own decisions on what to campaign for. If enough people campaign under the TransActive-UK umbrella we would bring TransActive-UK up to full democratic status as soon as possible.
Who May Campaign under the TransActive-UK Umbrella?
Any Transperson or supporter may campaign for trans rights under the TransActive-UK Umbrella. All we ask is that you drop us an email in confidence to state that you are using the TransActive-UK name. We would also appreciate details of any successes or failures. These will be treated in the strictest confidence and your name or email will never be passed to any third party without your written consent.
Nothing will be published without your permission. If you give your permission, we can give you a full credit or make your details anonymous.
No. You campaign on issues that you feel are right for you. TransActive-UK will only give suggestions on these pages. We may not cover everything so it up to you.
Make sure that if you write to your MP, the press or any organisation, mailing list, etc, that you mention TransActive-UK and the web page address.
